HKS Turbo Timer Type 0 "Push Start" Specifications

Leaders in the turbo timer market since 1982, HKS' latest offering is the Type 0. The Type 0 is compact and discrete, featuring a control unit and a separate LCD display with white back light. Fully automatic, it lets you set a cooling time of 0-10 minutes, or calculate the optimum time according to your driving style.

The Type 0 timer also acts as a voltmeter, and records the maximum value reached by battery voltage. Audible and visible alert can be set to provide warning. All necessary hardware is supplied, but for ease of installation we recommend a vehicle specific harness.

"Automatic Door Lock" : specially designed for "Push Start" Subaru cars (keyless ignition), this turbo timer is able to control the automatic door lock mechanism. This is the main difference between the standard version (HKS Type X Turbo Timer) : on keyless ignition cars, OEM electronic settings would not allow you to lock doors while the engine is running. This "Automatic Door Lock" feature will bypass electronic safety mechanisms, in order to lock doors while the engine is running, controled by the turbo timer's count down.

Why use a turbo timer?

The role of the timer is to increase turbo life. When oil is hot and flow is stopped, it can leave deposits in the system. The timer keeps the engine idling, which allows constant oil flow through the turbo whilst the system cools down.
