This RacingDiffs bearings and oil seals set allows to restore BMW K type differentials that have become noisy with time. It includes components of the same quality as the original for a long lasting reliability. It fits most differentials produced by the manufacturer between 1999 and 2006 and is compatible with the following models:
- 3 Series: E46
- 5 Series: E39
- 7 Series: E38 (late models), E65, E66, E67
- X3: E83
- X5: E53
- Z4: E85, E86
The kit is available in two variants that correspond to the different sizes of differentials: to simplify, 188K for 6-cylinder models and 215/220K for 8-cylinder models. If you are not 100% sure which product you need, do not hesitate to contact us.
How do you know if your differential needs new bearings?
This characteristic differential noise can be heard during acceleration and when using engine braking. To distinguish between differential bearing noise and wheel bearing noise, turn the steering wheel quickly to the left and right as if to warm up the tires. If the noise varies (louder or softer), it's a wheel bearing. If it is constant, it means the differential bearings need to be replaced.
