Planning to convert your BMW E36 or E46 to a manual transmission but can't find a compatible ZF driveshaft? This is a common issue due to the rarity and high price of these parts. The ideal solution is to use a more common Getrag driveshaft, paired with our custom-fit adapter plate.
Made from 8 mm thick 44W steel, this plate ensures a strong, reliable installation — tested under extreme conditions. It allows the use of a ZF 5-speed gearbox while retaining a driveshaft from a manual Getrag-equipped E36 or E46.
The kit includes all necessary mounting hardware as well as center bearing modification plates, required when installing an E46 driveshaft on an E36 chassis.
Compatibility guide:
- Vehicle: BMW E36 & E46 sedan, convertible, coupe (non-M models)
- Transmission: ZF 5-speed manual gearbox (ZF5) from E46 330Ci, 330i, E39 530i, or Z3 3.0
- Flex disc: Part #26117511454 only
- Driveshaft: From a manual Getrag-equipped BMW E36 or E46 (e.g., 320i, 323Ci, 323i, 325Ci, 325i)
- Driveshaft support bearing: Part #26121226731 only
