Nankang Sportnex CR-S Tyres Specifications

The result of 3 years' development, the Sportnex CR-S is Nankang's new road-approved semi-slick tyre, specially designed for club circuit enthusiasts. Thoroughly tested, this tyre is a step up in terms of performance (grip, consistency, etc.) compared with the already highly acclaimed AR-1. For example, on the Zandvoort circuit in the Netherlands, it proved to be 1.4 seconds faster per lap than its predecessor.

The CR-S features an asymmetric tread pattern and a treadwear of 200. Two wide grooves on the inner tread promote water evacuation to enhance wet grip. Placed on the outside, a thinner groove improves heat dissipation to ensure an ideal operating temperature.

The lightly textured outside tread shoulder provides strong lateral grip in fast curves and guarantees excellent handling in corners. The center pattern, dotted with micro-grooves, increases the tyre's contact area and promotes uniform wear.

The CR-S benefits from a new cap compound, which generates more heat for a quicker temperature rise, to maximise grip performance on dry and wet surfaces. The unique fibre-reinforced sidewall compound enhances stiffness, supplies high supporting ability and lowers heat generation.
