The Tesla Model S Plaid held the fastest lap record for a production electric car on the Nürburgring Nordschleife from September 2021 to April 2022. With its 1020 hp, the American sedan completed the lap in 7:35.579, about two seconds slower than the current class champion, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S.
