It should be noted that Mazda produced several special editions of its RX-8 over the course of its career, including the Japanese Mazdaspeed Version, Rotary Engine 40th Anniversary, or the ultimate model marketed before the production stopped, the highly desirable Spirit R which featured reworked engine, chassis and body for very high performance on the racetrack.
