MaxxECU Sport Engine Management System Specification

The MaxxECU Sport management system is intended for engines up to 6 cylinders in sequential ignition, or 12 cylinders with wasted spark. It features Bluetooth connectivity and two extra motor outputs (very useful to control e-throttles on newer engines, for example). This ECU has a built-in 4 bar MAP sensor (intake manifold absolute pressure) directly available on the unit's housing. Thanks to the MTune software, you will be able to build complete ignition and fuel maps along with many features: variable timing, boost control, Flex Fuel, traction & launch control, anti-lag, and so on. With its 8 Mb of internal memory and ARM Cortex-M3 processor at 120 MHz, the MaxxECU Sport engine management system is capable of feats: 1000 Hz data logging, ignition resolution of 0.1°, injection resolution of 0.001 ms, and up to 2000 injection and ignition computing per second.

The MaxxECU Sport supports the CAN bus protocol and has 6 high or low impedance injector outputs, 6 ignition outputs, 9 extra outputs (inc. x2 e-throttle) and 6 extra inputs guaranteeing maximum development possibilities! With a dimension of 140 x 134 x 42 mm, it weighs only 590 g. Do not hesitate to check out all the advanced technical information on the official website of the manufacturer!

Unit, Standard or Premium?

The Standard version of the MaxxECU Sport computer is supplied with a Bluetooth antenna, its universal harness and a USB cable for PC connection, along with its wiring and operating instructions (in English). Choose the Premium package to receive a Bosch LSU 4.2 AFR sensor with it's wiring and connectors on top, or the "unit only" version if you just need an ECU without any accessories.

"Plug & Play" Versions on OEM Engine Harness

MaxxECU offers a range called "Plug-in", to be connected directly to the vehicle's original harness. No adaptation required, just plug in and map! If your vehicle is equipped with a mass air flow (MAF), it is possible to remove it and upgrade your electronics to manifold pressure management, thanks to the MAP sensor built-in as standard on the MaxxECU unit. The "Plug-in" MaxxECUs are available in Standard and Extra versions:

  • Standard: supplied with the adapter for the original engine harness, its manual and a USB connection cable for the PC interface. For performance and accuracy reasons, MaxxECU units do not work with the original lambda probe and require a wideband sensor (0-5V). If you don't already have one, prefer the Extra version.
  • Extra: a Bosch LSU 4.2 wideband lambda sensor with it's wiring and connector are added on top.

Characteristics

The MaxxECU engine management systems were born in Sweden, from a simple observation: in the early 2000s, there was no simple and powerful ECU to meet the needs of tuners. Today, MaxxECU responds to an ever increasing demand, offering easy-to-use EMS with revolutionary features. Proof of their quality, MaxxECU units are now widely used for the circuit racing, drifting, dragster and even on the road.
