Loctite SI 5940 sealant forms a flexible, waterproof and oil-resistant silicone elastomer bond by curing when in contact with moisture in the air. Versatile, it is ideal as a general-purpose sealing and bonding agent, space-filling rubber adhesive or FIPG (form-in-place gasket).
This one-component silicone sealant bonds to clean metal surfaces, glass, all types of non-oily wood, silicone resins, cross-linked silicone rubbers, ceramics, natural or synthetic fibres and most plastics and painted surfaces. Its operating temperature is between -50°C and +200°C, with intermittent peaks at 220°C.
