Loctite 243 threadlocker seals threaded fasteners to prevent loosening and leakage due to shock or vibration. This versatile product, suitable for use on studs, nuts and bolts in pumps, gearbox housings and presses, for example, offers a medium-strength bond that allows normal disassembly using standard hand tools.
This acrylic threadlocker is effective on active metals such as brass and copper, but also on passive substrates such as stainless steel and plated surfaces. It tolerates slight contamination from industrial oils (motor oil, rust inhibitors, cutting fluids, etc.) and is fluorescent so it can be checked under UV light.
