This short shifter fits onto the gearbox tunnel, and suits all Mazda MX-5 NA & NB with BMW manual 5 or 6 speed “Getrag” and “ZF” gearboxes. Made entirely from CNC'd forged aluminium, this high quality short shifter offers numerous advantages :
- The gear knob is also placed closer to the steering wheel, ideal for racing
- Adjustable gear locking : great feature for race or drift cars, insuring you always hit the right gear ! The integrated mechanism allows you to block access to reverse, 5th and 6th gear
- Reduced length for quicker gear throws
- Mounted on bearings for ultra precise shifting
- Anodized finish available in multiple colors
Installing this shifter requires drilling 4 holes in the transmission tunnel. A minor trim modification may be necessary depending on the vehicle model. Suitable both for road and track use, we recommend this kit for vehicles with reinforced engine and gearbox mounts.
