GKTech Rear Knuckles Specifications
After 8 years of combined product development and over 1,000 pairs of S-Chassis knuckles sold, GKTECH naturally expanded development towards the Z platforms.
These drop knuckles have been engineered to provide an excellent balance between lightweight construction and rigidity. They feature integrated dual caliper brackets as standard, high-quality PTFE-lined spherical bearings throughout, and completely revised suspension kinematics designed to drastically improve anti-squat, bump steer, camber characteristics, and roll center height.
- Ability to run dual calipers without spacing the brake rotor outward
- Compatible with the factory drum handbrake system in its original position with either single or dual caliper setups
- 40 mm drop, optimized for vehicles lowered by 40 mm compared to factory ride height (greater drop would require proprietary suspension arms)
- High-quality PTFE-lined spherical bearings fitted as standard (Part Number: COM10T)
- Completely revised kinematics providing significantly more grip compared to conventional drop knuckles
- Optimized camber curve for more even tire wear
- Optimized bump steer characteristics to generate toe-in under compression without relying on OEM arm elastokinematics
- Increased anti-squat for improved rear weight transfer and traction
- Raised roll center height for improved handling characteristics
- Lightweight folded steel construction optimized for maximum strength
- Total assembled weight (including bearings, spacers, and circlips): 3.9 kg compared to 5.1 kg for OEM knuckle
Installation notes:
- Aftermarket toe and traction rods are mandatory and must use spherical bearings (rose joints). Due to the significantly altered suspension mounting points on the upright, rubber bushings or similar components will not provide sufficient angular misalignment to function correctly.
- Upper and lower camber arms may remain OEM or aftermarket and do not require replacement.
- For optimal performance, the use of GKTECH upper camber arms together with the GKTECH anti-squat relocation kit is recommended.
