FuelTech FT550LITE ECU Specifications

FuelTech FT550LITE engine control unit from the PowerFT range is recommended for users who require all the features of the FT550 but without the digital dashboard. It is suitable for Otto cycle engines with up to 12 cylinders and Wankel engines up to 4 rotors. It also supports electric vehicles since version 5.10.

This ECU is equipped with 14 input channels fully customisable, digital and analogue (temperature, pressure, speed and position sensors, TPS, external MAP, buttons, keys, etc.) as well as an internal 7 bar MAP sensor, an accelerometer (G-meter), a gyroscope and 2 CAN bus ports. In total, it also has 24 general-purpose outputs: all can be used for accessories such as fuel pumps, fans, solenoids, etc. Communication with a PC is provided by a mini USB cable.

The main feature of the FT550LITE is its featherweight design, weighing only 310 grams, as it does not include a digital dashboard, unlike other ECUs in the range. It is housed in a waterproof casing made of aluminium and plastic (IP67 standard) which makes it suitable for off-road and marine applications.

The FT550LITE allows for precise management of injection and ignition with the generation of 2D or 3D maps that can be modified in real time from an external screen and the FTManager software (including remote adjustment via the Internet). It supports fully sequential injection and enables closed-loop injection via an oxygen sensor (wideband lambda sensor). It provides fully sequential, semi-sequential and multipoint ignition control management.

The FT550LITE has a built-in data logger that allows you to record multiple sessions (files) to up to 256 channels. With its large memory capacity, it offers up to 2 hours and 50 minutes of data storage, which can be viewed and compared using the FTManager Datalogger software.

Several drag racing features have also been implemented to improve the vehicle's times during acceleration races. These include burnout mode, brake pressure control via line lock, rev limiter, Pro-Nitrous setting, wheelie control, and more.

Truly versatile, the FT550LITE has numerous secondary features to help you tune your vehicle to suit your needs. It includes a BoostController (wastegate pressure control), active traction control, variable valve timing control (VTEC), a GearController (power-shifts), electronic throttle control (DBW) and many other functions.

FuelTech is a Brazilian company founded in 2003, specialising in the development of electronic solutions for high-performance engine management. It designs and manufactures ECUs with built-in digital dashboards and software for racing vehicles. Recognised worldwide, the brand is highly regarded in motorsport circles for the precision and reliability of its products.

In January 2025, FuelTech smashed its hub dyno record with the Szabolics Marchese Racing team's twin-turbo Chevrolet Camaro Pro Mod, powered by a Pro Line Hemi MH7 engine, Precision Turbo Next-Gen 98 mm turbos and a TurboSmart BoostGate 50 electronic valve. It achieved an incredible 5,395 hp at the wheels at 8,800 rpm, which is more than 6,000 hp at the crankshaft! Built by RJ Race Cars, fuelled by 720 lb/h injectors and a FuelTech system, this performance highlighted the Brazilian company's technical expertise in engine management.
