The intake for the Honda Civic Type R FK8 was designed with two objectives: maintaining low intake air temperatures and freeing up airflow to the turbo. The filter is enclosed in a carbon airbox using the stock seal against the hood to block engine heat. A Venturi stack directly connected to the filter replaces the flexible ducts to optimize flow, while a secondary side air inlet nearly doubles the intake cross-section compared to the stock system. The carbon airbox maximizes the available volume and blocks all heat sources, delivering benchmark performance and aesthetics for the Type R FK8. Performance gains are estimated at +14 to 20 hp and +22 to 29 lb-ft of torque.
