Technical Notes : Bolts & Hubs

  • The bolt sets listed above are for the hardware used to secure the bowls and discs together.
  • Each set consists of 24 bolts, 24 nuts and 24 washers.
  • M6 screws of 25 mm length are used for front discs 286-365 mm, rear 286-304 mm, with fixed hubs only
  • M6 screws of 30 mm length are used for 330-405 mm rear discs, with fixed hubs only
  • M6 screws of 35 mm length are used for all floating discs
  • M8 screws of length 30 mm are used for front discs from 380 to 430 mm, with fixed hubs only
  • The hubs, whether fixed or floating, are always delivered without bolts. To make a complete pair of discs, you will therefore need a pair of bowls, a pair of rotors, and a hardware set consisting of 24 bolts, 24 nuts and 24 washers. For discs with floating hubs, it is essential to use a Full Set of Assembled Floating Bolts & Hardware (24).
  • There is no need to change the hubs every time you change rotors. Generally speaking, the bowls can be reused as long as they are within a radial tolerance of 0.05 mm, and an axial tolerance of 0.10 mm. In practice, the bowls have at least the lifespan of two or even three sets of tracks in heavy duty use (competition), and can be reused almost infinitely in road use.
  • If in doubt, contact us or check directly on your vehicle
