First introduced in the late 1980s, electronic throttle control, sometimes called drive-by-wire (DBW), uses electronic signals, instead of a conventional mechanical link, to control the throttle. This technology offers many advantages in terms of engine wear, performance and efficiency.
A DBW device is not only lighter (no throttle cable and fewer moving parts) but also provides idle control, throttle response adjustment and a launch control function.
Offered by our partner MZR Garage, this adapter V2 kit allows you to mount an 83 mm Bosch electronic throttle body (Audi 4.2 V8 OEM) on a custom intake manifold. In particular, this updated version offers a better connection with the silicone intake duct thanks to a new machined part. This kit is delivered with the necessary hardware for the installation. The throttle body, pedal, harness and DBW compatible ECU are not included and must be purchased separately.
