The AiM SmartyCam 3 Sport is the manufacturer's newest onboard camera designed for motorsports. Even more compact and light than the HD 2.1 model, it is also more powerful with its capacity of recording in Full HD, its built-in data logger and its automatic track selection.
Extremely robust, the SmartyCam 3 Sport has a cast aluminum body with a color TFT screen on the front and its lens is protected by a sapphire glass to withstand all conditions. Like all AiM cameras, it allows you to record videos that include all the useful data to help you improve your performance on road or track.
The SmartyCam 3 Sport is able to overlay different data in real time on videos and offers multiple graphic layouts. Video and data received from the CAN bus and internal sensors are stored in a single file in MP4 format. Speed, RPM, lap number, gear shifts and much more information can be displayed.
The SmartyCam 3 Sport's new CMOS sensor and high-end lens provide superior image quality and avoid wave and wobble effects, even in the most challenging conditions (low brightness, vibration, heat, etc.). It comes with two lens choices: 67° field of view for closed-roof vehicles or 84° for open-roof vehicles and formula cars.
On the starting grid, you only need to focus on what's important - your race. That's why this camera is able to switch on and off automatically and can also start and stop recording automatically.
This SmartyCam 3 Sport benefits from an extended storage capacity and an optimized compression system for a perfect balance between video quality and file size. The videos are stored on a microSD card (not included) and three modes are available: high quality, 1 hour = 4 GB, standard quality, 1 hour = 2 GB, low quality, 1 hour = 1.5 GB.
The camera can be connected through the CAN network to many AiM devices: MX series, MXL 2, MyChron, Solo2 DL, EVO5, ECU Bridge... It is also possible to connect several SmartyCam on the same CAN network.
With the included Race Studio 3 software, you can configure various camera settings, manage maps, compare two laps, and much more. You can also analyze all the data recorded by the SmartyCam once downloaded to your PC: graphs, histograms and tables will help you evaluate your performance to avoid mistakes and improve your driving.
