Swapping to a coil-on-plug ignition set-up can eliminate dwell time issues that can be detrimental with conventional stock systems. This kit is the most affordable and reliable way to drive coils on a coil-on-plug set-up. The AEM ignition control module is designed to drive high-power, dwell-controlled two-wire ("dumb") coils commonly found on performance engines.
AEM's three- and four-channel igniter coil versions can be used as a replacement for a stock coil driver or when converting to coil-on-plug in engines that do not need the extra spark energy from a CDI, or do not have the mounting space for a CDI (capacitive discharge ignition) like on ATVs, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and other powersports applications.
