7 Litre Weld-On Oil Pan Kit for Nissan RB20/25/30 Engines Specifications

This weld-on kit developped by our partner MZR Garage increases the total capacity of the oil pan on Nissan RB engines (metal case for 2-wheel drive). It is designed to be easy to assemble and the top plate is contoured to ensure a perfect fit. The kit includes rubber baffles and a threaded bush as well as a sump plug. Once assembled and welded, the kit has no change in height clearance and is as functional as the original.

Fitting Advice

Carry out a blank assembly of the kit once everything is assembled, but before you have finished welding the unit. Check ALL clearances, ensure that the oil nipple has sufficient clearance on the sides and bottom of the sump, and check the cross-member clearance. Confirm fit to the stock engine block with the oil pick-up tube fitted and check the clearance between the oil pick-up tube and the sump. A clearance of approximately 3 to 8 mm is correct. Check your work carefully BEFORE welding! All original oil pans vary in size by a few millimetres. No two oil pans are identical.

During welding, the metal warps under the effect of the heat. Remember to secure the oil pan to a bracket or spare engine block to reduce/prevent distortion. Otherwise, the assembly may not fit properly. DO NOT paint the inside of the oil pan, most paints do not adhere sufficiently and leave deposits in the oil pump. If the pan is stored for some time before use, lightly oil and clean the inside before fitting.

Rubber flaps should be fitted LAST, once all the welds are complete and the oil pan has been thoroughly cleaned! Lightly oil the press fit section of the flap with engine oil, WD40 or a similar product, then insert it into the oil pan. This kit uses the stock 2WD front hump oil pick-up tube. Note the location of the engine mounts and the A/C lines, pumps, etc.
