The AiM SmartyCam 3 GP bullet-camera is specially designed for motorsports. It allows you to record videos that include all the useful data to help you improve your performance on road or track. Very compact and robust thanks to its anodized aluminum casing, this camera is capable of producing high quality HD videos and features a color TFT display on the front for immediate playback and easy configuration, as well as a bullet connection cable very resistant to vibration and electromagnetic interference.
The SmartyCam 3 GP is able to overlay different data in real time on videos and offers multiple graphic layouts. The track map, vehicle position, speed, lap and split times are provided by the GPS module. With a data logger connected to your ECU, RPM, throttle, engaged gear, acceleration, temperatures, pressures and other data from additional sensors can be displayed.
The SmartyCam 3 GP's new CMOS sensor and high-end lens provide superior image quality and avoid wave and wobble effects, even in the most challenging conditions (low brightness, vibration, heat, etc.). It comes with three lens choices: 67° field of view for closed-roof vehicles, 84° for open-roof vehicles and formula cars, or 120° for an even wider view of the track.
On the starting grid, you only need to focus on what's important - your race. That's why this camera is able to switch on and off automatically and can also start and stop recording automatically.
This SmartyCam 3 GP benefits from an optimized compression system for a perfect balance between video quality and file size. The videos are stored on an SD card (not included) and three modes are available: high quality, 1 hour = 4 GB, standard quality, 1 hour = 2 GB, low quality, 1 hour = 1.5 GB.
The camera can be connected through the CAN network to many AiM devices: MX series, MXL 2, MyChron, Solo2 DL, EVO5, ECU Bridge... It is also possible to connect several SmartyCam on the same CAN network.
With the included Race Studio 3 software, you can configure various camera settings, manage maps, compare two laps, and much more. You can also analyze all the data recorded by the SmartyCam once downloaded to your PC: graphs, histograms and tables will help you evaluate your performance to avoid mistakes and improve your driving.
